A rejected bottle survives to hold an imaginary flower

constructed linearly, the perfume opens with a manmade organic

composites of Aldehydes and Safraleine, opening up slowly to hawthorns and

derivations of Lilac, before exploding in a riot of Flowers Oxides, then finally

succumbing to notes of Industrial Glue and Brown Scotch Tape with hints of

Musk and Styrax.

Purposely taking a bottle that has been disqualified from existence and

purposefully giving it its right to exist.

We are very happy to announce the arrival of the newest collaboration perfume between COMME des GARÇONS and Hussein Chalayan, AIRBORNE.

Airborne, is an attempt to capture a sense of my journey from Cyprus to London.

I proposed an imaginary scenario as how neroli, lemon or lentiscus from Cyprus could incur change during and after an air journey from Mediterranean Cyprus to a London urban setting.

Matt Growning: I met COMME des GARÇONS through my artist friends Mondongo and I liked their their wit and audacity. I was aware of Rei Kawakubo and her work as a powerful avant-garde designer but I never thought my silly work of cartoons and her fashion would ever coincide.

COMME des GARÇONS: What would Binky and Sheba think of COMME des GARÇONS?

Matt Groening: Binky would be baffled and Sheba would love it.

COMME des GARÇONS: Do you think Akbar and Jeff would be inspired by COMME des GARÇONS or vice versa?

Matt Groening: Akbar and Jeff could move into COMME des GARÇONS and live happily ever after. They would love everything there wether is was for men or women.

"BINKY & SHEBA PLAY " by Matt Groening and COMME des GARÇONS the latest series of T-shirts from PLAY COMME des GARÇONS.

Based on the original comic strip entitled "Life in Hell" created by Matt Groening in 1977 with a colorful cast of characters including:

BINKY, a normal depressed rabbit, star of the cartoon. He's usually stuck in a dead end job, has a bad apartment and sees a therapist.

SHEBA, Binky's ex-girlfriend. They met in a coffee shop in 1981.

BONGO, Binky's illegitimate son, the product of a drunken night of "jungle passion".

COMME des GARÇONS welcomes a new 1.600 square meters flagship store in the heart of Seoul.

Keeping only the 47m x 18m glass façade of an existing building, the totally re-conceived interior will house all the COMME des GARÇONS lines in seven floors. These half floors are linked by five enclosed sloping tunnels in which be displayed a variety of special COMME des GARÇONS products as well as other designers and artists.

In the 150 square meter basement, there is the COMME des GARÇONS Six gallery, only the second such space in the world after the Six in Osaka, where exhibitions will be be held three times a year, starting in October with David Lynch "The Darkened Room".

Finally, the ground floor hosts the first Rose Bakery franchise outside Europe, as well as the COMME des GARÇONS PLAY BOX.

The COMME des GARÇONS "Five Tunnels" is designed by REI KAWAKUBO.

COMME des GARÇONS Six (Osaka) will host a new exhibition of short films and artworks by American film director David Lynch entitled "Darkened Room".

The show started Saturday (07.08) in Osaka and runs through October 9th before moving to Seoul to the new six level COMME des GARÇONS flagship store (opening 27.08).

The almost 19.000 square foot store will host COMME des GARÇONS's second Six art exhibition space.

Gaiacwood: Tree of life bearing blue flowers.

WOODY NOTES

Patchouli: Perfume, medicine, hippies.

Vetiver: The roots are made into mats and hung in doorways to keep cool in India.
